Prominent soil types include highly productive Canisteo clay loam, Nicollet clay loam, and Clarion loam. Access to the farm is from County Hwy M54 / 600th Street. The tract is located northeast of Newell, Iowa in Section 4 of Newell Township, Buena Vista County, Iowa.
